Find Your War Hero with New Fold3 Database

Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center continues to provide the latest in resources for researchers and the community with access to the new database Fold3 Library Edition by Ancestry. Access to the database is free from the library or from home with a library card. Fold3 offers access to over 473 million original documents related to military history from the Revolutionary War to recent military actions in Iraq. Fold3’s vast collection is also mostly original records that cannot be found anywhere else on the Internet making it one of the best collections of Civil War, World War II and Vietnam War records.
Fold3 also allows users to create memorial pages or honor walls for family members who served in the military. Users can create personal accounts to upload pictures, stories and documents to a page or wall, allowing collaboration and sharing of information to honor military family members.
Fold3 is not just for genealogists and researchers; with new documents being added all the time, it is perfect for military enthusiasts, veterans and their families or even the classroom. You can access Fold3 at any branch of the Cumberland County Public Library & Information Center as well as from home with your library card. Just go to our website, click on “Research a Topic,” then click “Genealogy” to find Fold3.
